The Adventures of Pixlberry

So! Now that I have a super awesome Tumblr page, I’d better get cracking on getting some posts up!;) What better way to start than posting one of my remixes that I created a while back- it’s ‘Dire, Dire, Docks’ (water theme) from Super Mario 64!

Some of you know this about me already, but I love composing music. Especially video game themed stuff that has a little ambiance, and anything with a great melody! I have only finished 2 full-length pieces in 3 years, but I have TONS of half-finished stuff that I would love to keep working on!

Let’s face it though- I think I may have gotten a little discouraged when I submitted this piece to OCremix back in 2008. I saw the critiques that the moderators wrote about my remix. Besides getting a big fat NO from everyone in regards to getting it uploaded to their site, I heard from some of them that this piece wouldn’t get accepted no matter how many times I tweaked it and resubmitted it, and I should just move on to other things. Ouch.

So, since I am a perfectionist, I of course went to work polishing the piece anyway, and I worked on volume control, changed the key signature, sped up the tempo, and added in the ocean SFX. I think it could still use more work in some spots, but for a complete beginner (this is my 1st finished remix- ever!), I like how it turned out.
